Remembering Herself
A Water & Light Retreat for Women in Belize
May 13-20, 2027
Remember • Become • Purpose
Let’s be real—life has been doing the most lately. This retreat is where you release the noise, reconnect with your truth, and step into a sacred journey of self-love, healing, and self-actualization.
Surrounded by sisterhood, sea breezes, waterfalls, and sacred Belizean landscapes, you’ll be guided through rituals, gentle movement, meditation, indigenous Belizean body work, and soulful practices that awaken your inner power. Together, we will remind each other of our wholeness and our collective light.
Because when women heal, we all heal.

What Makes this Retreat Different?
There are plenty of retreats in the world — but this one was created with you in mind. This is a sacred gathering for women of every background — Black, Brown, Asian, Latina, and all of our amazing divine feminine allies — to come together in unity, healing, and joy. Here, sisterhood isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the heartbeat of everything we’ll do.

Belize offers the perfect backdrop for transformation: turquoise waters, waterfalls, sacred caves, lush rainforests, and the healing wisdom of indigenous traditions. You’ll not only experience breathtaking nature, but you’ll also connect with the land through practices that honor conservation, ancestry, and cultural appreciation.
What makes this retreat truly unique is the way we weave it all together — science and storytelling, spirituality and ceremony, movement and meditation, not to mention the many opportunities to connect with Belizean people and culture. You’ll find yourself immersed in soul work that is as nourishing as it is empowering, held by women who are ready to rise together.

This isn’t just travel. This is transformation, rooted in sisterhood and the sacred beauty of Belize.
A Glimpse Into Your Days in Belize
Every day of this retreat is intentionally designed to flow between sacred practice, cultural immersion, and restorative rest. You’ll have time to reconnect with yourself while also experiencing the magic of Belize alongside your sisters.
Here’s a sample of how your days might unfold:

Mornings
Greet the day with gentle yoga, meditation, or mindful movement as the sun rises over turquoise waters. Enjoy a nourishing breakfast before stepping into excursions like exploring ancient Mayan ruins, connecting with Garifuna drummers, or taking a nature walk among waterfalls and butterflies.

Afternoons
Refuel with fresh, locally inspired meals before immersing in soul work: journaling, sisterhood circles, or a spa treatment. Some days, you’ll dive into adventures like kayaking, snorkeling, or exploring sacred caves; other days are designed for pure self-care and spacious rest.

Evenings
As the sun sets, we gather for rituals and reflection: sound baths, cacao ceremonies, fire circles, or storytelling under the stars. Together, we release what no longer serves and embody the light we’re stepping into.
Every day balances movement, culture, connection, and rest — so you’ll return home restored, renewed, and reawakened.

Who This Retreat Is For?
This retreat is for the woman who feels a sacred stirring inside — a knowing that life has more to offer, and that she has more to give.
It’s for you if…
-
You’ve been showing up for everyone else — family, work, community, others — but you’re ready to finally show up for yourself.
-
You’ve carried emotional weight, stress, trauma, or shame, and you’re ready to release what no longer serves you.
-
You believe in the power of sisterhood, ritual, and spirituality — or you feel curious to explore them.
-
You long for sacred connection with women across cultures, united by healing and joy.
-
You want to reconnect with nature — the waterfalls, the ocean, the caves, the rainforest — and let the earth itself be part of your healing.
-
You’re ready to remember who you are, rise into your gifts, and return home renewed, empowered, and deeply connected.
If this sounds like you, know this: you don’t have to keep waiting to feel whole. The time is now. And you don’t have to do it alone — we’ll walk this path together.
Meet Your Guide: Cassandra Powell
Cassandra is more than a retreat leader—she’s a professor, healer, world traveler, and survivor who has dedicated her life to guiding others into wholeness.
Once a homeless teen navigating trauma and adversity, Cassandra made herself a promise: “If I ever become an adult…if I live through what I’m going through, I will do something to help other(s) learn to live through whatever life throws their way.”.” She has kept that promise ever since. Today, she is the founder of Light of Loving Kindness, a Chicago-based nonprofit bringing holistic healing to communities most in need, and the Director of CasioftheLight.

Academically, Cassandra holds five degrees and two postgraduate certifications, and she has served as a professor of Linguistics, English, and Communications, as well as a college director and advisor. She is also a certified yoga and meditation teacher, with advanced training in trauma-sensitive yoga, yoga for children and teens, yoga for social justice, and mindfulness-based interventions. Her expertise extends into trauma studies, energy work, and spiritual practice—including reiki, intuitive guidance, and shamanic healing. Her work has taken her to over 35 countries and nearly every U.S. state, where she has studied cultures, traditions, and the universal ways people heal and connect. Through it all, she has carried the belief that every person is inherently worthy, and that self-love and collective compassion can transform the world. Cassandra’s retreats are a weaving of self, spirit, story, and science—a sacred container where women feel seen, safe, and celebrated as they reconnect with their truest selves.
